Windows 2000 MCSE - Exam FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About the Windows 2000 Accelerated Exam

Questions about the testing process

Q. When will Exam 70-240: Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Accelerated Exam for MCPs Certified on Microsoft® Windows NT® 4.0 be available?

A. Exam 70-240 will be released June 30, 2000, and be available worldwide through December 31, 2001.

Q. What is the duration of exam 70-240?

A. Four hours is the testing time allowed for 70-240.

Q. Four hours is an unusually long duration. Customers may be uncomfortable taking a single test for that length of time. What if a customer requests a break? What can we do to alleviate related customer satisfaction issues?

A. If customers request a break, inform them that a break will be allowed, but the testing clock will continue to run during the break. Please use discretion to protect exam security at all times, including during breaks. For example, candidates should not be allowed to take books, notes, cellular phones, or other questionable items that may help them cheat while away from the testing room. When possible, please accommodate customers' requests to help them be more comfortable during this lengthy exam, but never at the risk of exam security.

Q. What is Microsoft doing to encourage candidates to avoid waiting until the last few months to take exam 70-240?

A. Microsoft is working on promotions that would provide incentives to candidates to take the exam as early as possible. We are aware that capacity may be an issue and will continue working with testing centers to reduce problems.
