CCNA
is the first level of Cisco certification. A CCNA
is qualified to install, configure and operate simple
routed LANs and WANs, as well as switched LANs and
ATM LANE networks. They are also able to optimize
WAN traffic through Internet access by reducing bandwidth
and reducing WAN expense through technologies such
as Filtering with Access Lists, BOD (Bandwidth on
Demand) and DDR (Dial on Demand Routing). The CCNA
will be well versed in IP, IGRP, IPX, Serial, AppleTalk,
Frame Relay, IP RIP, IPX RIP, VLANS, Ethernet and
Access Lists.

CCNP
is the second level of Cisco certification. The CCNP
is qualified to install, configure, operate and troubleshoot
complex LANs, WANs, switched LANs and Dial Access
Services. They are able to install and configure networks,

stability, configure remote access, enhance security,
create a global intranet, deploy security measures
and enhance the overall quality of service. The CCNP
is trained in IP, IP RIP, IPX, IPX RIP, IGRP, AppleTalk,
PPP, Access Lists, Extended Access Lists, Serial,
Async Routing, Route Redistribution, Route Summarization,
ISDN, ISL, Frame Relay, X.25, ATM Emulation, PSTN,

Bridging in a multi-vendor environment.
